![]() ![]() There is a trailhead at the top of Gold Hills chairlift. Alternatively, you can park at the Crystal base area main lot (no permit required) and ride the road down the TH - this is probably easiest to find. You may need a NW Forest Pass to park here. The trail goes off to the right from this lot. Follow this road to the base of the ski run called Northway (parking lot here). If you are doing it counterclockwise continue up the Crystal Mountain Road another mile and turn right on the first dirt road past the horse camp. This is the start of the route and is gated in 100 feet or so. If you are doing the loop clockwise park at 4 miles up the road next to dirt road 7190-410 on the left. Drive up this road about 4 or 5 miles depending on how you want to do the loop. Rainier Park you've driven too far) and turn left. The line we've drawn here takes in 2 descents and a couple of beautiful up tracks through peaceful forests.From Enumclaw take route 410 to the Crystal Mountain Road(if you enter Mt. Many people ski tour here for fitness and if you come on a winter's evening you're unlikely to be the only person mad enough to be doing a few laps in the dark! Crystal is also a good spot to learn and practise basic touring skills, and the Okanagan section of the Alpine Club of Canada often do avalanche rescue practise here. There are countless ways of skinning up and skiing down Crystal and the terrain is all super mellow so there's essentially zero avalanche risk, and no shortage of options. The area is reached via a snowy drive up from Westbank, and the locals keep the parking lot ploughed so you can drive right up to the slopes.
